-Skates
can fit anywhere from 1 to
3 sizes smaller than shoes
and up to 4 sizes for women
depending on the manufacturer
-Measure
both feet and get the snuggest
fit possible
-Always
fit skates with the proper
socks and insoles
-
Skates should be fit while
seated with your knee at
a 90 degree angle and both
feet on the ground
-
Loosen the laces fully so
the foot can easily slip
forward. With the tip of
the longest toe just barely
brushing the end of the toecap
there should be no more than
a pencil behind the heel
for children
-
For competitive hockey the
tighter fit the better
-
Skates should be very snug
in order to maximum energy
transfer from your foot to
the ice.
-
Once the skates are laced
up the eyelets should be
parallel to each other
-
The skates should be kept
on the customer's foot for
a minimum of 5 minutes and
check for pinching or pressure
points
When
purchasing hockey equipment
the most important aspect
to consider is that the equipment
is properly fitted. When
equipment is not suitably
fitted the player is exposed
to injury |
